blog-santa-pic.jpg Oh my! I can not believe that Christmas time is already here. I don’t know why it always sneaks up on me, especially now that stores start getting their Christmas stuff out in August haha. I have really really enjoyed this Christmas season. All the gifts are wrapped, cards mailed, trees up (yes, three trees), halls decked. I decided that I wanted to get all of this done really early this year so that I could slow down in December and enjoy the holidays this year. After all, I had morning sickness and didn’t feel too great (typical first trimester stuff), so I figured I might as well push through and get all the decorating/wrapping etc etc done during that time (weird logic, I know). Now that I feel good again (thank you God for the second trimester), I am really enjoying Christmas time. David even got the yard all finished. He put the candycanes in the back yard, and the wreaths and garland with lights on the porch- it looks so festive!

It has been wonderful to explain Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the Angel to Sam. It’s so neat to watch him put it all together. He keeps saying that the wiseman in our nativity is “hohoho” –which is Santa’s nickname. Guess we need to work on who the wise men were too…

Tonight we watched “A Charlie Brown Christmas” together and ate pancakes for dinner. Now that is a fun way to enjoy the Christmas season!

Today, we went to the mall and got our picture with Santa. Sam really had a good time, and told Santa that he wants a tool workbench and a racetrack with race cars. Oh, and here’s a funny: Sam told me the other day that he didn’t want Santa to bring us a baby. I told him not to worry, that Santa does not bring babies!

Since we didn’t post anything for Thanksgiving, I asked Sam what he was thankful for tonight when he was taking his bath. His list really shocked me. Out of the mouths of babes…

Here is what Sam is thankful for:

God, Mommy, Daddy, God’s people, God’s children, Blueberries, Tractors and Keys. Then, Sam realized that I was writing down what he said, and his list expanded to everything in the bathroom. Such as, I am thankful for the water in the tub, I am thankful for the clock, I am thankful for the towel…each followed by the order to “write it down, Mommy!”

So- here is to the MOST wonderful time of the year, and what it REALLY means!
